James Tissot

Meet my new favorite 19th-century painter! You can see his complete works here, and you can see many of his paintings in the "flesh" at the Art Institute in Chicago. They are part of a special exhibit about the clothes that people wore in many of the best known (and some of the least known) works of the 1860s through the 1880s in France.
